Ask your students to reflect on Amir’s method across all the examples they have seen: Size 3, Size 9, Size 5, and Size 7. Ask them to describe Amir’s method in their own words, and to point out what seems to stay the same across all sizes and what seems to change, depending on the size.

After watching the video, ask your students to examine Amir’s method along with Haleemah and ET’s work using that method to find the number of gray stones in Size 7. Prompt them to discuss how the use of color helped ET and Haleemah make sense of and use Amir’s method.
