Mauricio and Emily debate whether or not the area of the new slice of pizza is 63 in2 [4:45]. They have drawn 63 rectangles inside the pizza, each with a height of 1 inch and a width of ½ inch. Their debate highlights the challenge of understanding this new unit of measure, the square inch. While the two have found 63 units that fit into the rectangle, they are not square inches.
